It was first beautiful week of February,our family was invited for lunch by our cousin in Welimada, a beautiful town in hill country.On the following day we planned to visit Haputhala.While we were planning the journey my husband insisted that we need to visit the tourist magnet Adisham bungalow.
It was 26km from Welimada to Haputhala.As it was our own vehicle it took around 40 minutes to reach Haputhala town.It was a beautiful morning we enjoyed seeing the mist laden mountain range that visible in the distance and halcyon atmosphere of the Haputhala town.

Adisham bungalow located in Thangamale secured sanctuary, that is 2km away from Haputhala town.The Bungalow built by the British noble man and planter sir Thomas Lister Villiers in 1931.But today the Bungalow owned by the Roman Catholic Monastery. The monastery only open to visitors during the weekend,poya days and holidays.
The bungalow surrounded by huge trees and a well maintained garden,Where you can see hundred varites of orchids and roses.Blooming flowers bring lovely and pleasant experience to the mind and soul.

Also you can see several inspirational quotes written in stones in the garden.
Further you can buy jams and cordials made of the fruits in the garden.

According to the records it took four years to built this bungalow. Only the small part of the building could be accessed by the visitors. Taking photos inside the bungalow is not allowed.

The bungalow is made by granite stone walls and long narrowed windows and chimneys.
All the material used to build this bungalow were imported from England.
The dining room and library decorated with beautiful painting by his wife.Do not forget to visit this beautiful place if you visit to Haputhala.
